Arachnoiditis Possiblity

Started by RainieLove on 01/26/2011 12:53pm

My mother had a lumbar laminectomy due to a benign tumor in January 2010. Before the surgery, she was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. Two weeks while in recovery she had contracted chemical meningitis. I believe she contracted chemical meningitis during the surgery. When she was finally released from the hospital, she had problems in her right thigh, butt, leg, and foot. Her right thigh is still numb and she feels that the nerves are straggling the life out of her right foot. Medicine isn't really working. She has problems going to the bathroom and has problems sleeping at night due to the stabbing sensation in right leg, and foot. Now her right toes are really bothering her and she has problems walking. I went with my mother to see a neurologist and he said that she has scar tissue and he feels that she has arachnoiditis. I wanted to know what is the best way my mother can get a correct diagnosis for arachnoiditis?

Can someone please help me?
