NECK AND BACK PIAN

Started by farron88 on 08/17/2010 9:15pm

IM NEW HERE SO I HOPE IM DOING THIS RIGHT I WOULD LIKE SOME HELP UNDERSTANDING MY BACK PRONLEMS HERE IS MY MRI RESULTS ALIGNMENT; ACCENTUATED KYPHOTIC CURVATURE OF THE THORACIC SPINE PLACES THE HEAD AND NECK IN AN ANTERIOR , STATIC POSITION DECREASING ABILITY TO DISSIPATE NORMAL VERTICAL LOAD AND ROTATORY STRESS pathoanatomy; multilevel spondyloarthropathy with leftward spondyloarthropathy as the dominant feature incidental notation made of mucosal thickening of the maxillary and speniod sinuses. co-c1 encroachment by the cerebellar tonsils on the foramen magnum associated with capsulosynovial thickenimg of the anltano-odontiod articulation. the combination of the findings can potentially interfere with normal csf migration through the foramen magnum there by precipitating headaches and other neurological symptoms; smooth noncompressive , posterior disk placement with moderate biforaminal narrowing related to uncovertebral joit and facet hypertrophy c4-c5 clinically significant encroachment upon the c5 nerve rootlet may present with diminished deltiod and pectorals reflexes ,motor weakness of the deltiod muscle as well as para hypoesthesia of the shoulder , decreased intradisal T2 signal and broad- base leftward signal posterior disk protrusion , asymmetric encroachment upon the left pre-foraminal space is associated with morderate higrade biforaminal narrowing related to uncovertebral joint and facet hypertrophy also greater on the right , clinically significant encroachment upon the C6 nerve rootlet may present with diminished biceps and brachioradialis reflexes, motor weakess to forearm flexion and para hypoesthesia of the uper arm , thumb , radial forearm, C6-7 normal intradisal t2 signal and concave posterior disc margin with moderate stenosis related to symmetric facet hypertrophy and there is still afew more but my back and neck is hurting bad so i got to stop here i hope some one can help me and i will be very gratefull thank you

DEAR FARRON88, DO "YOU" KNOW WHAT ALL THAT MEDICAL SPEAK MEANS? IT MEANS YOU ARE HURTING! HAVE TROUBLE WALKING? SLEEPING? HOLDING THINGS? MOST OF THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE FEEL YOUR PAIN. IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED PT GO FOR IT. I'VE BEEN SUFFERING BACK/NECK PAIN FOR 10 YRS OR MORE AND A FEW MONTHS AGO HAD FUSION SURGERY ON L3-5. THE SURGICAL PAIN WAS MORE THAN MY IMAGINATION COULD HAVE DREAMED UP. HAVING 2 CHILDREN DOESN'T PREPARE YOU (ME) CONTRACTIONS AT LEAST GIVE A FEW SECONDS TO BREATH..THIS WAS CONSTANT "MUSCLE SPASMS". I WAS WARNED BY THE DOCTOR THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO PREDICT WHO HAS THEM, DIDN'T SOUND TOO BAD. IT IS. FOUR DAYS OF HANGING ON TO THE SIDE OF THE BED, CRYING. 2 WKS IN REHAB, AND ONE MONTH OF HOME VISITS FROM PT,OT AND NURSES. BUT WAS IT WORTH IT? YES, NO MORE LOWER LEG PAIN. BUT BACK AND NECK IS THE SAME. NO MORE SURGERY FOR ME. MY ADVISE IS TO WAIT A WHILE. TRY EVERYTHING FIRST. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

HI AGAIN...the terms here are a bit tough for me but i did the best i could. apparently these troubles can or may be able to be fixed by a good neurosurgeon. you certainly have reasons for your pain......pete

ALIGNMENT; ACCENTUATED KYPHOTIC
(this means rounded back)
CURVATURE OF THE THORACIC SPINE PLACES THE HEAD AND NECK IN AN ANTERIOR , STATIC POSITION DECREASING ABILITY TO DISSIPATE NORMAL VERTICAL LOAD AND ROTATORY STRESS
(your posture makes you less strong and flexible)
pathoanatomy; multilevel spondyloarthropathy with leftward spondyloarthropathy (this means arthritis of vertebrae) as the dominant feature incidental notation made of mucosal thickening of the maxillary and speniod sinuses. (these are sinus areas in your head that drain into your nose)co-c1 encroachment by the cerebellar tonsils on the foramen magnum associated with capsulosynovial thickenimg of the anltano-odontiod articulation. the combination of the findings can potentially interfere with normal csf migration through the foramen magnum there by precipitating headaches and other neurological symptoms(APPARENTLY THERE IS PRESSURE WHERE THE NERVES FROM BRAIN GO INTO THE SPINAL COLUMN. THE NARROWING THERE GIVES THE SYMPTOMS THEY DESCRIBE); smooth noncompressive , posterior disk placement with moderate biforaminal narrowing related to uncovertebral joit and facet hypertrophy c4-c5 clinically significant encroachment upon the c5 nerve rootlet may present with diminished deltiod and pectorals reflexes ,motor weakness of the deltiod muscle as well as para hypoesthesia of the shoulder,(ARTHRITIS OF THE NECK JOINTS IS PUTTING PRESSURE ON NERVES THAT GO TO THE MUSCLES THEY MENTION)
decreased intradisal T2 signal and broad- base leftward signal posterior disk protrusion ,(I THINK THEY ARE SAYING BULGING DISC} asymmetric encroachment upon the left pre-foraminal space is associated with morderate higrade biforaminal narrowing related to uncovertebral joint and facet hypertrophy also greater on the right , clinically significant encroachment upon the C6 nerve rootlet may present with diminished biceps and brachioradialis reflexes, motor weakess to forearm flexion and para hypoesthesia of the uper arm , thumb , radial forearm,(ARTHRITIS IN NECK JOINTS PUTTING PRESSURE ON NERVE ROOTS COMING OUT OF THE SPINAL COLUMN AT C-6 AND CAUSING WEAKNESS AND PAIN WHERE NOTED} C6-7 normal intradisal t2 signal and concave posterior disc margin with moderate stenosis related to symmetric facet hypertrophy (MORE ARTHRITIS OF THE JOINTS CAUSING PRESSURE ON SPINAL NERVES)
