Tilted hips

Started by brahmas on 08/16/2010 12:22pm

Hello,my lower spine region was operated 30years ago.I had no trouble with my back. But recently from 2 years in row I get acute pain on my left side of the body which starts from my lower back and goes from head to toe ,only on the left.when i try to press my right foot on a hard surface with my left foot crossed over it I'm relieved for some time ,it takes some time to balance my hips.I also cannot sleep to my left side. Please help me find out the correct way of balancing the hip muscles.Thank you.

Sounds like you would benefit from a stretching and strengthening program. Both traditional flexibility and weight training programs, and Pilates (designed to balance the body) would work for you. First, stretch, inhibit which muscles are overactive, and strengthen the muscles that are underactive. Add in Pilates and you have the perfect program. You need to consult a professional with training in all of these areas.

Yes, sounds like you would benefit from a stretching and strengthening program. I had the same problem went to see a physiotherapist and found out I had a tilted pelvis and my left leg was shorter than my right, both causing enormous pain. The physio can give you SI joint corrections and strengthening exercises to do at home. You may think it's your hips but there could be many causes. I would be happy to share some exercises with you once you find out exactly what is wrong with you.
