DDD/w chronic pain

Started by DeborahD on 06/24/2010 4:33am

I've had 3 surgeries on my back and 5 on
my neck. I am unable to walk more than
10 steps without losing control of my legs.
My neurosurgeon says I have scar tissue
pressing on my spinal cord and there's
nothing he can do about it.
I don't want to live the rest of my life in
this kind of pain, or be on pain meds the
rest of my life! Does anyone know of any
new treatments out there? I'm desperate!

Deborah have you sought out a second opinion? Is the surgeon chalking this up to myelopathy? Do you have any other issues like loss of bowel and bladder control, or just strength and control of your legs? There are new treatments for supposedly helping to dissolve scar tissue with enzymes and oils, but I haven't seen any hard evidence that they really work. I would recommend seeking out another opinion and see what that doc tells you. Don't give up just because one doc has given up on you.

Well said by Bacaumi.

I advise you to get a second opinion. If scar tissue is cause of your problems, there are some methods to remove scar tissue.
