Mel,

I'm not an expert nor do I claim to be, but could just be a pinched nerve that the mri doesn't show. Anything can cause a nerve to be pinched, bending, leaning, taking a hard step down, you name it. Our backs are filled with nerves and it doesn't have to be a disc pinching a nerve for us to feel the pain. It sounds like you have a sciatic nerve pissed off, I sure know the feeling! Nobody knows why our backs play tricks on us, but it sure hurts when it does!

My advise to you is to follow through with your PT and do the exercises they prescribe for at home. You should get better with them. Let us know how you are doing!

!00% true of what Wendiann said!

Just a word of caution. There are very BAD PT's out there, so please be careful. My first herniation was worsened by the PT that put me under the knife.

Please read about McKenzie's method for PT, very useful for all of us -http://www.mckenziemdt.org/approach.cfm?section=int Bottom line don't do any exercise that causes pain - period

Sorry to hear of your pain. I have had the same thing and surgery. You need to get on some anti-inflamitorys meds..........flexeril worked very very well for me. Its a prescription and should help.

A pinched nerve is horrible. It may not show on MRI scan but I am advised to continue with a CT an or CAT scan. I am 9 months post surgery with two new posts in my lumbar. Doctor said a foraminotomy is what I need done. August at Detroit Receiveing an I am again looking forward to the TRAUMA Center. I take (2) two Percocet 10-325 per day. I also take Meloxicam 7.5 twice per day. I still have moments of severe pain but am getting better. I have an addictive personallity sober neary 14 years in August. I do not want to become addictided so I will live with this until I get a procedure done. Easy does it and walk alot.
