Increased T2 Activity

Started by painfilled on 04/11/2010 12:30am

I have continued with lower back pain since having a laminotomy a year a go February. My primary care physician ordered an MRI and the results state "Narrowed disk. Small amount of increased T2 signal and enhancement in the posterior aspect of the disk. Facet and flavum hypertrophy. No significant canal or foraminal no disk narrowing. Increased T2 signal and enhancement in the L5-S1. Early diskitis is not excluded." My Physician did not elaborate on the findings just said I needed to see a Neurosurgeon but I cannot get an appointment for 5 1//2 months. Just wondering what an increased T2 signal means.
