Spinal surgery for AS
For years ago I have started a discussion saying that " I have a severe adult scoliosis without pain..." and I received valuable comments. Since than my posture deteriorated , bending down so much that I can not stand up. An orhopedic spine surgent told me that my problem is not a scoliosis but ankylosing spondylities Bechterel. He said that it can be corrected by an operation using titanium screws and rots . After discussing all the details of such operation I agreed ; on 10 February 2014 I have been operated from L2 to S1 by using 14 screws and four rods. Everyhings were good, no pain etc. Four days I stayed in hospital. I usen a steel spinal brace for 5-6 months. I am now very well with a good posture. I suggest for similar problems surgery could be considered.
