The ball-and-socket design of the DISCOVER™ Artificial Cervical Disc consists of two endplates constructed from titanium alloy and a polyethylene core.
The DISCOVER Artificial Cervical Disc is an investigational device limited by US law to investigational use only at selected clinical research sites.

Purpose and Objective
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of the DISCOVER™ Artificial Cervical Disc in the treatment of Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) in one level in the cervical spine. The DISCOVER Artificial Cervical Disc allows surgeons to replace a degenerated disc with an artificial disc in selected patients who have been diagnosed with cervical Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD), have recurring neck and/or arm pain despite taking prescription medicine or other therapy, and are able to receive surgery.
