George Picetti,
M.D.
Dr. George Picetti
is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California
at San Francisco in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Additionally,
Dr. Picetti is Chief of Spine Surgery at Kaiser Sacramento.
Dr. Picetti earned
a Medical Degree at Creighton University. His Internship and
Residency were at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital. He followed
his general surgical training as a Research Associate and an
Orthopaedic Residency at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Resident
Training Program at St. Mary's Hospital. Dr. Picetti was an Orthopaedic
Spine Fellow at the Texas Back Institute.
During his residency,
Dr. Picetti was awarded the St. Mary's Orthopaedic Residency
Research Award and the Western Orthopaedic Association's Vernon
P. Thompson Award. Dr. Picetti is a member of the Scoliosis Research
Society and the California Medical Association.
Dr. Picetti has
authored a combination of over 30 peer-reviewed articles and
chapters. His career reflects a commitment to professional presentations
and lectures of his research. He has often taken the role of
course chairman at professional medical meetings. Dr. Picetti's
current research interest is in Video Assisted Thoracoscopic
Techniques of Instrumentation.
