Lali Sekhon, M.D.
Dr. Lali
Sekhon is a neurosurgeon from the Royal North Shore Hospital
in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Sekhon
received his medical degree from the University of Sydney in
the Department of Surgery. He completed a subinternship in neurology
and neurosurgery at the Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut
as well as a clinical rotation in pediatric neurosurgery at
the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Sekhon
also received postgraduate neurosurgical fellowship training
from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and completed a
combined orthopaedic/neurosurgical spinal fellowship at Toronto
Western Hospital in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Sekhon has also received
his Ph.D. from the Department of Surgery at the University of
Sydney, Australia. During his undergraduate, postgraduate, postdoctoral
and postfellowship training, Dr. Sekhon has received over 20
honors and awards including the Young Neurosurgeons Award from
the World Federation of Neurosurgeons and the 2000 Outstanding
Clinical Research Award from the Cervical Spine Research Society.
Currently,
Dr. Sekhon is an Associate Professor in Neurological Surgery
at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales,
Australia; Visiting Medical Officer at Dalcross Private Hospital
in Kilara, New South Wales, Australia; and Visiting Medical
Officer at North Shore Private Hospital, New South Wales, Australia.
Dr. Sekhon
is also a member of numerous prestigious organizations such
as The University of Sydney Medical Society, The North American
Spine Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Joint Section
AANS / CNS Spine & Peripheral Nerve, College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Ontario, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons
and the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Young Neurosurgeons
Society.
In addition,
Dr. Sekhon has also presented at over 44 national and international
medical conferences. He has served as an editor for the Journal
of Neurochemistry, the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience as well
as the journal Neurosurgery. Dr. Sekhon has also been very involved
in numerous Internet activities including Associate Editor for
the World Federation of Neurological Societies Website, a regular
contributor to http://www.dalcross.com/
and a section editor (spine) for http://www.wfns.org.
Dr Sekhon
lives in Australia and has interests in computers, travel, reading,
cricket, hockey, scuba-diving and fitness.
Dr. Sekhon
is a member of the SpineUniverse International Editorial Board.
