Carlos Bartolomei, MD
Dr. Bartolomei
received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine
in New Haven, CT. After graduating cum laude, he remained at
Yale where he completed his internship in the Department of
Surgery and his residency in the Department of Neurosurgery.
Dr. Bartolomei also spent a year as Chief Resident and Instructor
in the Department of Neursurgery at Yale. He then left Yale
to become an Attending/Fellow in Spine at the Barrow Neurological
Institute, St Joseph Hospital, in Phoenix, AZ. Upon completing
that training, Dr. Bartolomei returned to Yale where he is presently
an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery.
In addition
to his educational accomplishments, Dr. Bartolomei has received
numerous awards including the Yale University School of Medicine
Department of Surgery Honors, the Connecticut Chapter of the
American College of Surgeons & the Connecticut Society of American
Board Surgeons Excellence in Surgical Studies Award, the American
Association of Academic Surgery Research Award and the Sandoz
Recognition of Superior Academic Achievement and Contribution
to Health Care Award.
Dr. Bartolomei
is a member of several prestigious professional organizations
including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons,
the Society for Neurosciences, the Congress of Neurological
Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the American
Medical Association.
To date,
Dr. Bartolomei has published over 30 articles and abstracts
in such professional journals as the Journal of Neurosurgery,
Neurosurgery and BNI Quarterly. He has also contributed to over
15 textbook chapters and has made numerous presentations at
prestigious medical conferences. Dr. Bartolomei and his family
live in Connecticut.
He is fluent
in Spanish and, as an athlete, participates in volleyball, basketball,
running and golf.
