Doctor Stephen Heim is the Co-Medical Director of the Neuro-Spine Center and the Director of the Spine Surgical Training Center at Central DuPage Hospital. He is also on staff at Edward Hospital. In addition, two years ago Dr. Heim began private practice at Orthopaedic Associates of DuPage.

Dr. Heim earned a Medical Degree from Northwestern University Medical School. His surgical Internship and Residency was at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, followed by a Fellowship at the Midwest Regional Spine Trauma Center also at Northwestern.

He is a member of the following professional societies: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, American Spine Society, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the American College of Forensic Examiners.

Dr. Heim has co-authored two surgical technique manuals and contributed five textbook chapters and three scientific journal articles. Additionally, Dr. Heim is an invited lecturer on the topic of spinal instrumentation for scientific meetings. He is also a lecturer for two on-going series: one, Spine Trauma Lecture Series for Illinois State Trauma Regions and two, Think Smart Series for head and spinal cord injury prevention.
