John A. Van Houten, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He completed
a medical internship at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA and general surgical
residency at Martland Hospital Unit, New Jersey College of Medicine, Newark,
NJ. Dr. Van Houten's orthopaedic residency included United Hospital of Newark
Hospital for Crippled Children; trauma at Martland Hospital Unit; and, children's
orthopaedics, birth defects and Cerebral Palsy at Hunterden State School in
Clinton, NJ.
Dr. Van Houten served in the Orthopaedic Service at Womack Army Hospital at Fort
Bragg, NC and since has been in private practice.
Further, Dr. Van Houten is a member of many professional societies including
the Palm Beach Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, and the American
Medical Association.
Dr. Van Houten is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
His special interests include non-surgical spine problems, arthroscopic surgery
and general orthopaedic surgery.
