Paul J. Slosar, Jr., MD

Dr. Slosar is an orthopaedic spine surgeon who is certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and the American Board of Spine Surgery
(ABSS). He has been in practice since 1994 and has been with SpineCare Medical
Group since 1997. He is the current President of the group. In addition, Dr.
Slosar is Co-director of the San Francisco Spine Institute Surgical Fellowship
training program and Assistant Director of Surgical Research. His group trains
two surgeons per year in the specialty of Spinal Surgery.
Dr. Slosar is a member of the North American Spine Society and has served on
editorial and research committees. He is also a member of the International
Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, which is a prestigious group of 300
members worldwide, dedicated to the advancement of research and understanding
of lumbar spine pathology. He has authored many articles in peer-reviewed journals,
five book chapters, and has given numerous podium presentations at national
and international meetings. He is frequently invited to instruct other surgeons
on new technologies and techniques. He is an editorial board member for several
peer-reviewed journals including Spine and The Spine Journal,
as well as serving as an oral board examiner for the both the ABOS and ABSS.
His current research interests include cervical and lumbar reconstruction,
minimally invasive surgical techniques, spinal motion-preservation technology,
and internet-based solutions for surgeon collaboration.
