Dr. Frempong-Boadu is a neurosurgeon currently serving as an Assistant Attending
Physician at some of New York's finest hospitals including Tisch Hospital-New
York University Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital, New York Veterans Affairs
Medical Center, New York University Downtown Hospital, and the Hospital for
Joint Diseases in New York.
In addition to his patient care, Dr. Frempong-Boadu is an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the New York University School
of Medicine. He also holds several appointments at the New York University Medical
Center including the Director of the Neurosurgical Residency Program and the
Neurosurgical Residency Training Coordinator, as well as a member of the New
York University Faculty Senators Council, the Graduate Medical Education Committee,
and the Dean's Council on Institutional Diversity.
Dr. Frempong-Boadu received his medical degree from Temple University School
of Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He completed his Internship in General
Surgery and his Residency in Neurosurgery at the New York University Medical
Center. He then completed a fellowship in Complex and Reconstructive Spinal
Surgery in the Departments of Neurological and Orthopedic Surgery at New York
University Medical Center. He also completed a second fellowship in Minimally
Invasive and Endoscopic Spinal Surgery at Shands Hospital at the University
of Florida Health Science Center in Gainesville Florida.
Dr. Frempong-Boadu's clinical interests are in complex and reconstructive spinal
surgery, minimally invasive and endoscopic spinal surgery, and neoplastic disease
of the spinal cord and spinal column. He is a member of numerous important medical
organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Association
of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the North American
Spine Society, and the AANS/CNS Joint Section of Spine and Peripheral Nerves.
