About Dana Cruz

Dana Cruz is a fourth year medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She previously attended the University of Southern California where she earned her bachelors in biochemistry. She is currently completing a one-year research fellowship at the Spine Research Institute at NYU's Hospital for Joint Disease with intentions to apply for orthopaedic residency in the upcoming year. Her interests include adult spinal deformity, trauma and complex spinal reconstruction.

Unusual Case of Spinal Deformity: Post Herpetic Scoliosis

The patient is a 72-year-old female presenting with approximately 1.5 years of progressive coronal and sagittal deformity following an episode of Herpes Zoster. Less than 2 years prior to presentation, she experienced a characteristic rash distributed to the left gluteal and sacral regions.
