About Stephen T. Enguidanos, MD
Stephen Enguidanos, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in spinal surgery, including deformities and reconstruction of the spine. Born in Avalon, California, Dr. Enguidanos earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and worked as a paramedic prior to earning his medical degree from Creighton Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Vermont in Burlington, and a research fellowship at the UCSD Department of Surgery & Bioengineering in San Diego, California. Dr. Enguidanos performed his orthopaedic surgery residency at SUNY-Downstate Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Brooklyn, New York, and his spine surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado - Orthopaedic and Spine Center in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Enguidanos is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. He is a published medical author and has participated in numerous research studies. He has particular interest in treating spinal deformities such as scoliosis, and also performs minimally invasive spine surgery techniques.
