About Deborah A. Venesy, MD
Deborah Venesy, MD is a physician with comprehensive clinical expertise in the management of patients requiring musculoskeletal diagnosis and care. She currently is on staff at the Cleveland Clinic's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spine Center and also serves as Medical Director at South Pointe Hospital's Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
Dr. Venesy earned a medical degree at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, OH. She completed an internal medicine internship at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, OH, and a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at The Ohio State University, also in Columbus. Dr. Venesy has dual board certification in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic medicine. Further, she has completed specialized coursework in occupational medicine and disability evaluation.
An active member of several professional organizations, Dr. Venesy serves on the Health Policy and Legislation Committee of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where she also Chairs the Bylaws Committee. Further, Dr. Venesy serves on the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine's Professional Practice Committee and is an Oral Examiner. She was formerly a chair of the Academy of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation (PMR) By Laws Committee. Dr. Venesy has many community affiliations, including the Admissions Committee at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Venesy has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition, she has been an invited presenter at more than 45 lectures and conferences.
