Leflunomide (Arava)
Arava is the brand name for leflunomide. Leflunomide is in a class of medications called disease-modifying drugs (DMARDs) used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Arava suppresses immune cells that cause inflammation and help reduce joint swelling and damage (progressive joint deformity). Leflunomide may be included with other medications prescribed to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
