Infliximab (Remicade)

Remicade is the brand name for infliximab. Infliximab is in a class of medications called tumor-necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors. Infiximab works by blocking the activity of TNF, a substance in the body that causes swelling and joint damage in arthritis. Remicade may be prescribed alone or with other drugs (e.g. methotrexate) to help relieve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis.
